i suffer from depression due 2 ms. of course.

i can't see anyone with this disease not having 2 deal w/depression as it continually challenges me by setting new limitations in my life.

it's a better now than when i was first diagnosed back in 2000 tho.

believe in urself and have faith that u r not alone.

BE SAFE, BE STRONG

(((LLWELYN ))), you're so right. This monster challenges us all in different ways. You have to believe in yourself, because that is a major step in staying positive. And not a single person here is alone. They may think they are, but as soon as we know about them, it only last for a few hours, if that. We are never alone. Stay positive sweetie.

((((Llwelyn)))) Yep, I'm convinced that depression is part of this MonSter. We are forced to deal with issues that we've never had to deal with before along with the uncertainty, it's no wonder that we have depression too. Our brains and cognitive functions are affected and depression just goes along with it. This depression is real and not something we can just snap out of. Many on this site take anti-depressants as a part of our MS treatment. I can see myself taking one for the rest of my life and as long as it helps me, I'll take it. Anything is better than that dark foreboding feeling. It's my HAPPY pill.....WooHoo!!! Positive attitudes are key as well. I use laughter too.it's great and something I highly recommend. Live well, laugh often, love much ~Shirley

hi Llwelyn!-u r absolutely right. it is part of this disease. i felt myself going into this funk as i call it and asked my gp for an antidepressant years ago. and everytime i tried to quit it i would feel myself going back into the "funk". so i take it everyday, try to stay positive, be constructive, and not dwell on the fact that i was one of the "lucky" (yea, right) ones that got the disease.
