{PAIN MEDS}...............I want to share with everyone who suffers from pain a new pain med that’s getting great results

Subject: Pain

Hi Stan~

I wanted to share with you and everyone who suffers from pain a new pain med that is getting great results.

I've suffered from muscular pain for 7 years and have taken many pain meds and narcotics in past years. Nothing really worked till I found this new drug.

My Neurologist started me on a new drug called Lyrica two months ago. Lyrica is 6 times the strength of Neurontin, which is used for neuropathic pain. Lyrica is designed to specifically treat two types of nerve pain. It calms the damaged nerves that cause pain. Lyrica works by reducing the number of "extra" electrical signals that are sent out from damaged nerves in your body. By calming the extra electrical signals, Lyrica helps you become more comfortable.

Lyrica has changed my life.

It also helps me sleep great at night, which is a blessing alone.

I hope that all your readers talk to their Neurologist to see if it's right for them to try.

Love ya Stan and keep up the great work you always do.

Hugz to all,
Michele

Michele-thanks for the news. it is so hard to live with pain-when we didn't know what was causing my pain, i lived with it(dumb idea). and it would come in waves. i would try to fall asleep in between the "waves". this might help a number of so many people.

Hi Michele,

Thanks for this info. I am on 2,400 miligrams of neurotin for pain and burning. You can only go up to 3000 max which they are saving that last 600 mil in case of serious relapse. So this might be something to try. Thanks for sharing this info honey.
warm hugs,
Mary

Thanks!!! Gonna ask my Neuro if it will help with my probs.

Thanks Michele~~~I'm definately going to talk with my neuro and see if what he thinks about it. I take neurotin right now and it has helped...doesn't take the pain away but kinda dulls it so it's easier to live with.

Thanks again for the info~~

I have used lyrica and it does work well. I had so much trouble with pain in the beginning of the year. The physician prescribed lyrica and it helped a lot. Thanks for sharing this information to those that may benefit from lyrica.

sorormp3

Thanks for the tip Michele. I do have this medicine. It does work better, but knocks me out. I have to make sure I only take it when I'm headed to bed.

BE SAFE, BE STRONG

(((Michele))), I am glad that it works so well for you sweetie. And I really like the fact that you said to talk with your neurologist in your letter. Thats is a majorn thing to do. It might not be for everyone, and a neuro would be perfect to make that decision. I am smiling big time. I am thinking of you and wish the med keeps working for you. Many MANY (((Hugz))) to you.

(((Michele))) So happy they found one for you!!! I'm not so good on it or neurontin (like a drugged wet noodle) but hey I have heard many wonderful things about it! I am glad you are sleeping better too!!!

Extreme Animal Lover

i'm going to look that up... thank you!
I always thought the pain was from just overdoing it... doing too much outside, getting hot, I could justify the pain - - it'd eventually go away -I'd tell myself.
MS is soo much fun!

Michelle! :)

How wonderful you look! I want to thank you for telling us about Lyrica, as Neurontin has never worked for me. You look great in your pic, and you look well-rested. Thanks again!

With many hugs,
Tetsa

MICHELE - I WAS JUST PRECRIBED LYRICA.. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME KNOW THAT IT HELPS.. I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT IT.. THANK YOU SO MUCH.. HUGS...

I've been on Lyrica for one year now. Neurontin (Gabapentin is the generic) didn't work for me, and I was taking 2400 mg a day and a bit of a zombie (and still hurting/burning/etc). You can go up to 600 mg of Lyrica a day (I'm taking 450 mg) and for me personally it did not make me nearly as unsteady and groggy as Gabapentin did and has really brought my pain under more manageable levels. It does affect me cognitively a bit, although only I can really tell the difference, but it really, really has helped. Kudos to you for posting about this. It is definitely DEFINITELY worth talking to your neurologist about if you suffer from any form of painful neuropathy.
